Where do I buy your kits?
Currently our team is working to make an online store to get the product directly to customers. Until that day comes, you can get our kits in various country stores in the New England area as well as at the various links below.
Where are your kits made?
All of our kits are handmade in the wonderful town of Derry (Spacetown) NH by our wonderful master of spice, Mark!
How are your kits helping the environment? Isn’t plastic bad?
All of our bags are BPA-free, food grade, and made in the USA. Our kits require less energy consumption than other plastic or glass jar options that competitors are using. Since we don’t ship the actual pickles in the bag, no refrigeration is needed while shipping or storing and many can fit in a single box. These factors and many, many more make it so we are actually much more “green” than any other pickle options out there.
Which type of cucumber do I use?
We recommend using wax-free pickling cucumbers aka Kirby’s for pickles. All other cucumbers have a food grade wax coating that impedes the pickling process. You can put them in whole, halved, cut in spears or any thickness of chip you desire. You can also use any vegetable that you want! You can always ask a grocery store employee or a farmer at your local farmers market for what they recommend.
Do you need a jar?
The entire process, start to finish, is done right in the bag you purchase. You fill the bag, give it a shake, and leave in the fridge for at least 3 days to let the fresh cucumbers you put in transform into the best pickle you’ve ever tasted.
